Jeep Revealing Two New Concept Cars

It looks like Jeep is about to unveil a pair of new cars at the 45th annual Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. Chrysler released the above and below concept teasers which leave much to the imagination, and we are excited to see what they have in store.

Last year, Jeep debuted the Mopar JK-8 conversion kit to the world by showing us the VWerks-built JK-8 Independence concept pickup. This year, it looks like Jeep has got something more in mind. We won't know exactly what it is until we get to Moab, but Jeep sent us these preliminary partial-view renderings. See them at the bottom of this post.
We can't tell much from the what's here, but they look interesting. Called the Jeep Mighty FC and J-12, both images look to be clear attempts to recall some past Jeep favorites. It will be interesting to learn what platforms Jeep used to create these concept vehicles and find out if these one-offs may find a spot in a future product lineup.
Jeep and Mopar have a long history together and have allowed their most passion-filled employees to use many of the deep resources available to them to build their play toys for Moab. Originally called the Mopar Underground when it was just a group of guys at the Jeep shop working after hours on their personal projects (which they were going to take to Moab for their personal vacations), Easter Jeep Safari has become something much more legitimate. As a result, we've come to expect some interesting concepts.

Chrysler Going Green With Pickup Trucks

Chrysler is gearing up to release natural gas-powered trucks this summer in an effort to offer a cheaper refueling cost for Americans. Chrysler is starting with the Ram 2500 CNG, which cuts a third off fueling expenditures. We're excited to see movement in this direction and what other cars Chrysler can turn green!
Chrysler will build the first U.S. production compressed natural gas-powered pickup truck when it starts deliveries of its Ram 2500 CNG this summer, as the U.S. automaker looks to offer a cheaper refueling cost for its utility vehicles.
Chrysler, which has started taking reservations for the truck, said the model will include an 18.2-gallon-equivalent CNG tank that will provide 255 miles of driving range as well as an eight-gallon gas tank that will provide another 112 miles. Pricing for the Ram 2500 CNG, which uses a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine, starts at $47,500.
The company says it's offering fleet buyers a cheaper refueling alternative because burning CNG is about a third cheaper than regular gas. AAA says regular gas prices, which jumped about 27 percent last year, average about $3.75 a gallon, up about 40 cents since the beginning of the year. Chrysler says there are about 1,500 CNG refueling stations across the U.S. – about half of which are publicly accessible – while the U.S. Department of Energy puts that number closer to 1,000.
