Jeep is not known to skimp when it comes to auto shows, and this years 2012 Chicago Auto Show was no exception. Jeep set up a huge track to show the performances of their best cars, and best of all the filmed it so we could watch it again. Check it out below:
The 2012 Jeep Wrangler is not only a crowd pleasure during auto shows, but it is also an eye catcher out in the wild. With 40% more horsepower and better gas mileage, the Wrangler can easily perform well on the road, as well as off-road. AutoBlog set out to test its limits and were happily surprised at its resilience to the rough terrain. Take a look:
We've been tracing trail 16 through the ridges and hollows outside of Oliver Springs, Tennessee for the past five hours, inching along through rocker-deep mud, crawling over differential-busting rocks and clamoring up and down slopes made slick with two days' worth of torrential rain. Our wanderings have led us here – facing down one of the steepest climbs of the day. Through the mud-speckled windshield, I can see the path make a quick right turn before bolting up the side of the ridge. Walls of red clay littered with jagged roots and jutting rocks tower to either side of the deeply-rutted path, waiting to open our sheetmetal like maniacal can openers. You'd be hard-pressed to walk the route we're about to take, let alone drive it...
The Jeep marketing machine seldom misses as opportunity to remind us of the brand's rugged roots. From the torrent of advertising gushing from Chrysler HQ, you'd be forgiven for thinking that every Jeep owner spends his days forging trails and fording streams, but the fair majority of Jeep products and their owners are happier commuting than communing with nature. Even the Wrangler, stalwart flag bearer for the Jeep brand, has grown in every direction over the decades. With a new engine, a more refined interior and an optional well-sorted hard top, has the Wrangler strayed too far from its billy goat roots?

We had a great game this Super Bowl, and between the Giants victory over the Patriots we also saw many exciting and interesting commercials. Chrysler's inspiring ad featured Clint Eastwood speaking about a comeback in Detroit, and how the entire country is making it's economic comeback in the world. Although inspiring, some people found the ad to be too "political," but as of yet no one seems to agree as to what camp the commercial falls into. Chrysler denies any political agenda with the commercial, saying that it was merely an inspiring ad for the company.
Either way, it's hard to say anything negative about the message. What do you think?
On Monday, responding to a barrage of criticism from conservative pundits and some football fans, Chrysler chief executive Sergio Marchionne denied there had been any political message in the company's Super Bowl aired during Sunday's night's halftime show.
"It had zero political content," Marchionne told a Detroit radio station. "It was not meant to be any type of a political overture on our part; we are as apolitical as you can make us."

There is a special members only viewing the night before, so if you can you should take advantage of the early visit.
"Warhol and Cars: American Icons is the first exhibition to examine Warhol’s enduring fascination with automotive vehicles as products of American consumer society. This exhibition features more than forty drawings, paintings, photographs, and related archival material spanning from 1946 to 1986. As one of the most iconic and influential artists of the 20th century, Andy Warhol has helped to define America. His signature images of such American products and celebrities as Campbell’s soup cans, Coca-Cola bottles, Marilyn Monroe, and Elizabeth Taylor have become instantly recognizable. The majority of the work in the exhibition is from The Andy Warhol Museum’s collection.
The exhibition, traces the development of Warhol’s work with cars throughout his career. Warhol and Cars highlights include drawing created in the 1940s; works on paper of the 1950s, as well as paintings and prints from the 60s, 70s and 80s."
